Barcelona defender Neymar has called the situation with his club “terrifying”, but the midfielder said he is “still looking for the right way back”.
Read more: A year after a controversial transfer, Neymar’s future at Barca has been put on hold, but the 23-year-old remains confident of finding his way back.
The Barca legend was criticised for his transfer in the summer, and he has repeatedly said he will not be sold this summer.
However, the club have recently announced they will not pursue the likes of PSG star Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar remains keen on a move back to Barcelona.
Barcelona have been linked with several forwards including Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, but they have been unwilling to offer Neymar a long-term deal.
The Spain international is understood to want to return to the club, but Barca remain keen on the midfielder’s services.
“I’m still searching for my right way home,” Neymar told The Lad.
“The club’s always trying to offer me a contract.
I think they are interested, but I am not sure.”
Neymar is currently on a season-long loan with AS Monaco, but he is set to return at the end of the season.
He has also been linked to Arsenal and Manchester United, and has also said he wants to play for England at some point in his career.
Barcelona currently sit fifth in La Liga with 17 points from 17 games, and they are hoping to keep their season alive in the Champions League.
